» The park is used by many youth for soccer practice, basketball and family gatherings. A great idea would be astro turf, this would make the park more appealing. Please drive by anytime after 4 in the afternoons M-F and every weekend. The park has changed, I am sure you will be impressed.

»We have over 70 teens currently attending the Teen Center, we have run out of space. A larger teen center would be amazing!
»I am not sure putting in a police substation would give the perception of safety. Although, our SBPD is awesome many of the immigrants here have experiences dealing with deportation. I think adding on to the Boys and Girls Club or creating a Community Center that holds parenting seminars, is a safe place for kids, etc...where community members are there wanting to build relationships with the youth and other community members. That sort of building/location could be a gathering place for many people.
»I am with Cassie~by the time I got home, got settled and my bags over (and I live 4 houses away from Harding), folks were packing up AND there were hardly any farmers there! We have some ideas from our 6 week group to create Farmers Market to be the happening place~come if you can to our first community meeting for ZOCALO this THURSDAY from 6:30-8pm at the Westside Boys/Girls club! I am putting another note on here now about it!
»I really love this idea but feel the failure of the Wednesday Farmer's Market would need to be explored in planning for its success.
»maybe people on the westside were too stupid to shop at the farmers market, when they could buy food sprayed with rat poison at regular supermarkets.
»Combine that with the need for a communications center. The relationships between the Mujeres group and law enforcement could be fostered, families could go somewhere safe for local youth program information, and it would be a safe gathering place. LE could have a bike shop there where kids and families could do repairs and learn about all things safety related.

»need to get the word out and maybe later hours to give working class time to get home and get over there! Loved it and sad to see they stopped it.
»I loved the Harding farmers market, so how could we have spread the word more. Maybe stay open later as the westside working class doesn't get home they were closing.
»It should be a space for everyone - families, singles, teens, seniors. If it is primarily for "families", I and others might not feel comfortable.

    Set up a police sub station? Then they could have non profits and PALs give seminars. Such as bike / helmet laws for kids. Safety checks for booster seats etc..
